It's a Long Way to Tipperary is a British music hall and marching song written by Jack Judge and Harry Williams (Henry James Williams), a song that, allegedly, was written for a 5 shilling bet in Stalybridge, on the 30 January 1912 and performed the next night at the local music hall. Jack's parents were Irish, and his grandparents came from Tipperary.[

The Star-Spangled Banner (the American national anthem) being performed in 1915 by Margaret Woodrow Wilson, daughter of American President Woodrow Wilson. This recording was made as a souvenir for the Panama Pacific International Exposition and part of its profits were given to the American Red Cross. Come Down Ma Evenin' Star from John Stromberg's Twirly Whirly (1902), performed by Lillian Russell. During the production of Twirly Whirly, John Stromberg delayed giving Lillian Russell her solo for several days, saying it wasn't ready. When he committed suicide a few days before the first rehearsal, the sheet music for Come Down Ma Evenin' Star was found in his pocket. It became Lillian Russell's signature song, and is the only one she is known to have recorded.
